VSICM51 - Slide 08-15 - VDP Architecture

1. Wrong:

VDP appliance requirements description, in the slide notes, shows an incoherent statement:

Proper planning should be performed to help ensure that proper sizing and additional storage capacity cannot be added after the appliance is deployed.
1. Correct:

A correct statement, instead, should have read something like:

Proper planning should be performed to help ensure proper sizing as additional storage capacity cannot be added after the appliance is deployed.
1. Info:

For more details, see the "vSphere Data Protection Administration" guide, "Installing and Configuring vSphere Data Protection" chapter, "System Requirements" paragraph.

1. Room for improvement:

It should be also nice to remind that: "The additional disk space required that is above the usable capacity of the appliance is for creating and managing checkpoints.

2. Wrong:

While explaining the integrity check process, slide notes state that:

Data Recovery completes an incremental integrity check every 24 hours.
2. Correct:

vSphere Data Recovery was the name of the appliance offered up until vSphere 5.0; in vSphere 5.1 - instead - the new appliance name is vSphere Data Protection.
